It has been an overwhelming dream of mine to wear a Badgley Mischka piece during my wedding. If its a ceremony on the beach or a reception full of family and friends getting down on the dance floor, a girl can dream! The bead work on this dress is absolutely incredible. The belt is classic (my style) and makes for a perfect hour glass shape. The neckline is truly romantic and what princess wouldn't want to be swept away in this dress with the billowing silk at the bottom of the dress. The incredibly stunning gold detail is what cause my eye first on the runway and is my favorite part of the look. Clover Canyon, known for digital prints in the most interesting fabric combination: Scuba Gear. Form fitting to a tee, the length and body of this dress are super trendy for any occasion. The detail in the collar and mid-length socks adds a twist of a preppy school girl look. Pinstripes are going to be a high fashion trend. The mix of floral add a girly and sophisticated statement. The chic length right below the knee says I am ready for whatever! This model is feeling HOT HOT HOT in Herve! The crop top and skirt combo is flirty and flattering. The bandage them continues through the collections and the color scheme of this combo says it all. This is an absolutely stunning look that is different from the rest of Leger. The design of the outfit is to show nothing but a mid drift and bottom half of the legs which makes it super sexy! One of my favorite looks from all of Fashion Week, The Tommy Tartan. This plaid combo brings a new winter wonder on outdoor chic. The outerwear is casual and sophisticated and the matching skirt is too cute! Beanies are going to be a lasting trend. Mixing prints between accessories and outfits are going to be important during the fall season. I know what you are thinking, the famous DVF wrap dress has gone to a whole new level. I am currently obsessing over the sex appeal of this dress! DVF knows what her girl enjoys, something that makes her look and feel great. The neckline is stunning and the colors complement each other. I love the thigh high socks in the Tory Burch collection. The detail on this dress with a super low neckline can go day to night. The colors knock the other fall collections out of the ball park. For those chic and trendy fashionistas who still like to look appropriate this is the look for you. the lace up pumps add a bit of glamour to the look and all together complete a classic and vintage feel. xo mac

Shopping local and supporting small businesses can have a big impact on helping the community grow. Supporting and wearing something that is handmade can help promote local up and coming designers. Some purely love the satisfaction of others wearing there creations. You may just come across special pieces that were hand selected if not hand made. Showing support for small businesses in retail that go to trade shows is important because you are there customers that keep there business rolling and they pick these items just for YOU! This photo was taken at a newly renovated historical site, The Arcade. Located in Providence Rhode Island's financial district, the most up and coming small businesses have found there niche here. The spot has been attracting business people at lunch, students and tourists with its darling boutiques in a double layer building with dine in restaurants and living space up top. Owner of Tia's Place Boutique, Megan O'Sullivan travels to California for many of her orders. She was one of the first customers of the brand Street Level. The brand is now worn all over NYC and sold in stores such as Urban Outfitters and Brandy Melville. Street Level is known for there reversible totes and evening bags. In Connecticut, Polished Boutique owner Lisa Feniola buys handmade jewelry with antique Swarovski crystals from Boston called JOJO LOVES YOU. The company started with there crystal over sized stud calling them BLINGS, This hand made item is perfect for bridesmaid or birthday gifts.
Share with me recent experiences at local retail stores you love! xo mac I wanted to do a blogpost on my jumpsuit because it's my first trial run wearing one. When attending MBFW I needed a night time look. New York can be very busy at times and besides decidibg where the hottest party is going to be that night a fashionista needs to decide on a look that will last comfortably through the night. Besides the amazing color, the jumpsuit was unique because it has a gathered section on the left with a tie to excentuate the waistline. The strapless top with the deep v-neck was my favorite part. The royal blue jumpsuit was already feminine enough so I added a pointed toe t-strap heel and a fun gold bag. Black and gold acessories tied the outfit all together. This jumpsuit is also appropriate for work if you wanted to add a tailored blazer. I plan on adding more to my wardrobe! The followers of Marc Jacobs were invited to a pop up location in Soho to instagram ohtos of themselves using hash tag #mjdaisychain while they were directly inside the tweet shop. Along with the hash tag, the guests had to upload a picture of themselves with a backdrop of a meadow with real daisy’s planted in the faux grass and giant Daisy perfume bottles. Free manicures using the Marc Jacobs nail liquor were available for the guests. The hourly prizes were given to the best photos. The prizes included Marc Jacobs bags, sunglasses, jewelry or a bottle of the Daisy perfume. For those who didn’t win the best photo contest they were given samples of the Daisy perfume and Polaroid photos. The campaign featured the exchange of goodies for social currency and free advertisement. Keep the daisy chain going!
The tent for the 3:00 pm Rebecca Minkoff show was in Lincoln Center New York on Friday February 7th. The idea for my outfit came from the Dolce & Gabbana Fall runway show. The Renaissance inspired black dress had gold detail and lace along the bottom and ends of the sleeves. Accessories included black heels, a fur coat and a nude clutch. For the jewelry I went with a simple black earring that dropped down and a large gold cocktail ring in the design of a rose. The E! Pop of Culture room was a suit where you could watch other shows that were in the runway room. The activity in the room was to use the hash tag #embfw to instagram your outfit of that day. There was also seating so you could relax with a cocktail. The Rebecca Minkoff show featured her collection for Fall/Winter 2014. Oxford stripes with trousers and simple dresses under long coats were spotted on the runway. Minkoff tripled up on stacking jewelry and the glamorous chain link purses were a must see. Pops of fur, pastel pinks and tones of navy were based on everyday girl in the city inspired and are chic pieces that can actually be worn. Live music made the runway show even more amazing. Celebrities that made it in attendance to the front row seats of Minkoffs show were Carrie Underwood, Anna Kendrick, Anna Sophia Rob, Victoria Justice and Coco Rocha. These are my favorite images from the fashion show. The sport-coat, metallic skirt and oxford stripe blazer are definitely pieces I will be investing in. I absolutely love the footwear! color block strappy heels, simple nude heels and the thigh high-boots. The dark lip and knit beanie seem to be the biggest trend on the runway. Online you can view a video of the entire collection.
xo mac Mercedes Benz Fashion Week is the most major event for every fashionista. I took plenty of pictures and plan to blog about the entire two days by breaking it up into a few different posts. A lot of research goes into preparing which show to attend. There are also a lot of events going on during and around fashion week that are open to the public. It is an amazing experience and I hope everyone gets the chance to go! A one night stay in a king suite at one of Manhattans best known hotels, The London NYC right off of 55th Avenue was my first destination. The hotel is extremely accommodating and the package included two free drinks at the bar. Since they are a sponsor of MBFW the cocktails were called “stylish sips.” I had an espresso martini named “Little Black Dress.” In the area there is plenty to do and see. On the website they have a list of activities they have selected that guests can check out. It is also minutes away from Soho by subway. Before the show hair and makeup is the most important aside from your outfit as far as getting glamorous goes. An essentials makeup bag was gifted from cosmetics brand, Butter London. The nail polish includes a top coat, base coat and an exclusive polish called "Lady Bird." There are also nail polish remover cloths that are good for traveling and a nail file. A grey eye pencil is going to be fantastic for a smokey eye. The chunky hydrating lip balm is my favorite. A lippy gloss in the color red is chic and trendy. Lastly, the package includes a mauve lipstick. My favorite part of getting glam was Drybar. No color, no cuts, just blowouts. Each appointment takes 30-45 minutes. There is hardly any walk in appointments available and those who want to schedule, make sure you call at least a week ahead. They have their own hair product styling line and hot tools by Buttercup. Private parties are also available. Each blowout is listed on a menu and is named and inspired by cocktails. My hairstyle was called the Cosmo-Tai, a mix of a Cosmo and Mai-Tai. The blowout consisted of big volume with curled ends that are shaken out at the end. Mimosas, champagne or water is served complimentary. The location I went to is below. Online you can find a location near you. MIDTOWN, NYC Le Parker Meridien Hotel 119 West 56th Street New York, NY 10019 Now I am ready for the Fashion Show!
xo mac I would not normally consider H&M a spot for finding unique pieces. It is a fast fashion store located on every New York corner that carries basics, desighner duplicate bags and less expensive costume jewelry. During my hunt for my acessories for Mercedez Benze Fashion Week I decided to stop in here. I was shocked when I saw this sale. I picked up this cocktail ring for only .54 cents! I was first inspired by the Dolce and Gabanna Fall renissance collection with soft florals and golden glamor. Stay tuned for my MBFW look! xo mac

January brought freezing temperatures and snow days. This trend is not just for warmth, it has been become a major trend that is worn from coast to coast. The beanie dates back to the 20th century and was worn by the working class to keep there hair back. They range anywhere from $10 knit caps to over $300 designer cashmere beanies. Beanies are decorated with Pom Poms, phrases, and even animal ears. The boyfriend trend has even been picked up by the knit cap with the slouchy over sized look. After searching between online and store I found the perfect black beanie. I was inspired by European fashion and living in New York have seen the over sized fur pom pom. I purchased the asos Faux Fur Pom beanie made from a chunky cable knit. The rolled cuff allows me to wear it tight or loosely fit. xo mac
