When going to an event I enjoy taking pieces from my wardrobe and transitioning the look from day to night in order to make it look and feel more natural. The less you have to change the better! This trendy leather skirt and bodysuit were worn with a blazer for my outfit during the day. I am not a big fan of bodysuits but thought the perfect opportunity for a more dressier one would be when wearing a skirt to decrease bunching and wrinkling. To transition to night I took a statement necklace and put it on and took off the blazer. I added the grey boots rather then a flat or heel for more of a softer look and the hidden platform make them comfortable enough to walk in all day and night. The leather skirt is a purchase that I continuously get use out of. The length is appropriate for work and the leather is extremely fun for a night time look!

Named after Burgundy France, you already know this is a classic color. The color of wine, love, linens, and old fashioned lipstick. This dark red can be paired with neutrals, metallic colors, prints or other shades in the color family. It is currently my favorite color not only in this season but for many months to come. Accessories such as earings, scarves and shoes are being worn everyday by fashionistas. If you don't want to be bold with this over powering lip color, go with a burgundy lip gloss. This is one color you need to incorporate in your wardrobe because its elegant and easy!
If you call yourself a shoe lover you must own a pair of these! A classic boot that comes in more colors and variations then you can wrap your head around including suede, leather, velvet and fabric. The 5" wood heel boot is the classic Jeffrey Campbell style. You might think I am crazy but these are easier to walk in then a 2" heel. If your not amazing at walking in heels this is the boot for you fashionistas that have the courage to wear them out! I love to wear my Litas with a fun legging or a dark pair of denim in the cold months. These are also functional in the spring time with a pair of highwaist shorts or a dress. Let the JC collection build!

Arista is a Manhattan girl who spends time shopping and working at Tia's Place Boutique. Her style is a mix of New York chic and classic. Her outfit is from Tia's place and she decided to add the over sized mint clutch as an accessory because she liked the bright colors to contrast against the white lace mini dress. The drop down earrings are a Tia's place accessory to gawk over. This fashionista knows how to pull together a simple look with a touch of detail.

I scaled down the unnecessary items and figured out what you really need to have in your purse. I have though about this day in and day out and yes these things really are necessary. If you are in a busy city working or a student take my advice. If not then you're doing alright!
1. Tablet - I carry my iPad tablet because when there is extra time I enjoy reading books or the news. It seems to have a battery life of infinity and that is why I love it so much.
2. Smith's Vaseline - For those that lick there lips when they burn! It sucks I know, that's me. By far the best Vaseline I have come across although hard to find. Mostly sold in American Apparel.
3. Sunglasses - These are important because they help protect your eyes on those awfully sunny days. I make sure I get mine polarized to get rid of the glare from the sun.
4. Headphones - Relax and enjoy the ride! The beats headphones are my favorite because they block out the sounds completely. When I have long travels I sit back and listen through these.
5. Leather Gloves - Fashion statement you could say but leather gloves actually keep you quite warm. They also take up less room than a thick knit glove.
6. Emergency Lipstick - I find lipstick to be the quickest fixer upper. From drab to fab I buy YSL to keep the look lasting also in fun shades like a bright red or hot pink to instantly become bold.
7. Kleenex - Self explanatory and defiantly mandatory.
8. Cell phone case with ID holder - This eliminates a chunky wallet! Get rid of the bulkiness and when your in the mood to switch bags just through your phone in and off you go.
A new year is about turning over a new leaf, new resolutions and new and exciting experiences. For me, a new year means new trends, new colors and new brilliant ideas of what we will wear next.
Holiday collections are over and the sequins have been worn repetitively. Your not sure what to wear throughout the rest of the season. The in-between season's trend is about pairing basics with other basics. Here is some inspiration to dressing simple and still looking great:
Clean White
The Fall 2014 Ralph Lauren collection brings back the old fashioned look into today's read-to-wear. The bow is what caught my attention to the outfit. You can create this same look by adding a black satin bow to a white blouse.
Little Black Jacket
Paris Fall 2014 fashion week inspires long silhouettes and a little Dior in my wardrobe. A cropped jacket will accentuate your waste when it meets a chino pant. Graphic t-shirts are also trending and are important to own for layering.
Bad to the Bone
Rag and Bone Fall 2014 collection is edgy and fabulous. This slate grey short and jacket combination can be worn together or separated. Leather jackets will have less detail this season. The simpler the outfit the bigger the statement.
"Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening." (Coco Chanel)
